Longing for Union: The Last Chinese New Year Gathering.
This is the last of the annual Chinese New Year Gathering where we have our mama and eldest sis Chooi Keng around.
The year could be 2008, the year my mama passed away at 97 around the Hari Raya season where we returned home.
Qinyang was studying in Singapore National University, and Bee Bee as being down to earth realist, spiritual and ultra pragmatic, Bee Bee asked him not to come back for the Chinese New Year. So we have only Qinyuen here. Qinyuen was studying at Help University in Kuala Lumpur then.
Emily Por-Wong presence was also one of the last few that she would come back for the Chinese New Year from nearby Singapore.
My seven sis Chooi Wah’s family always turnout in full force, as they were only from the other end of the street of our home in Raja Uda. There you have the unfathomable don’t know why smiley LiEim Ong, the ultra curiosity and new seeker Kendra Nilufer.
My fifth sis Chooi Fong grand daughters, who are very talented in art are here too. These 2 adorable kids are carrying on the good in art traditions of our father, or may be that of our forefathers.
Then we have either one of the twins, who to these days that I still can’t distinguish them, Li Cheng or Li Har, or by the English names, Cerlyn Limooi or Melina Ong .Ah Li is also here, smiling.
